2011
- $1,000 to the Centerville United Methodist Church to help fund Food 4 Summer, a continuation of the community’s Food2Go program, that will feed hungry children for 13 weeks in June, July and August.
- $1,500 to Friends of the Castle, a non-profit group that supports a social center that serves adults with mental disorders. Currently celebrating its 18th anniversary, the Castle provides transportation and a warm, friendly atmosphere — games, music, field trips and a nutritious lunch — for an average of 45 people a day. The grant will go towards the purchase of a commercial stove for the kitchen.
- $500 to Cross Creek Community Church to expand its Feeding Friends food pantry. The pantry serves 35 – 40 families a month, providing them with food for a week. The grant will go towards the purchase of a utility cart to help move food from the church to clients’ cars, and a refrigerator.
- $500 to the Centerville-Washington Township Historical Society to help pay for the second edition of its 1977 publication, A Sense of Place. The book chronicles the rich history of Centerville and Washington Township. The second edition will include updated information and will add color photographs to the black and white photos from the first edition.
2010
- $700 to the John Hole Playground PTO for new playground equipment that will be used by students as well as children in the community and provides hours of entertainment.
- $700 to South Suburban Coalition to support a three-day drug and alcohol awareness campaign aimed at teenagers.
- $700 to the Therapeutic Riding Institute, Inc. to help provide equine-assisted activities and therapies for children and adults with special needs.
- $700 to the Food 2 Go Program of the Centerville United Methodist Church to help fund a weekend feeding program for hungry children in Centerville schools who receive free and reduced cost breakfast and lunch during the school days but are at risk when school is not in session.
2009
- $500 to the Centerville-Washington Park district for “Around the World,” a program that allows children to “visit” other countries and learn about other cultures while enlisting community volunteers to serve as guest speakers.
- $600 to the Washington-Centerville Public Library to help pay travel expenses for visiting authors as part of the Library’s bicentennial celebration, “Great Books, Great Libraries,” in 2010.
- $800 to the Washington Township Recreation Center for an Outdoor Pegasus, a musical instrument that, when combined with other selected pieces, will become an outdoor orchestra in the Child and Nature pod of the Butterfly Playground in the center’s Countryside Park.
- $800 to Centerville High School’s School of Possibilities for a digital projection system that will provide clear onscreen images for the classroom, meetings and guest speakers.
- $1,800 to Hithergreen Center toward replacement of one of the vehicles used by community volunteers to transport seniors who do not drive.
2008
- $500 to Town Hall Theatre’s Touring Teen Troup to help pay expenses to bring a nationally-known Education Director/Playwright to Centerville to watch the teens perform one of his plays.
- $500 to TJ’s Place of Hope to help young people recover from a seemingly helpless state of mind. It provides a safe haven for adolescent and young adults to stay sober and share their stories with others their own age.
- $2,000 to the City of Centerville for the Centerville Arts Commission to support Art in the Heart of Centerville, a celebration of art, music, food and shopping in downtown Centerville.
2007
- $2,500 for a public art project called for in the Foundation’s long range plan and Create the Vision. The art project is the new 4-sided clock in downtown Centerville.
2006
- $2,500 for a public art project called for in the Foundation’s long range plan and Create the Vision.
2005
- $1,500 to the Centerville-Washington Park District for an All-Access Playground at the Activity Center Park. The playground facility allows children of all abilities to play side-by-side and is a first for our community.
- $1,500 to Hithergreen Senior Center for equipment for the Center’s fitness room. Seniors use the room every day to maintain their strength and flexibility or recover from illness.
2004
- $1,000 to the Centerville Community Band for additional music and uniforms.
- $1,500 to Centerville-Washington Township Historical Society to support publication of a book on the 200-year history of education in Centerville and Washington Township.
2003
- $500 to the Centerville-Washington Park District to help fund a new “Nature On The Go” program, designed to help teachers, scout leaders, home school providers and others who work with children to teach specific nature topics and hands-on activities.
- $500 to Washington-Centerville Public Library to help defray the cost of purchasing and installing flag poles in front of each of its facilities.
2002
- $500 to Hithergreen Senior Center for a Day Retreat for Caregivers and for a joint garden in the middle of a bikeway/walkway.
- $500 to the Centerville Arts Commission for the performance of the Rejects on August 28, 2002, and the Centerville Community Band on September 1, 2002.
2001
- $500 to the Centerville-Washington Diversity Council to continue the diversity initiatives within the community.
- $500 to Centerville-Washington Township Historical Society to participate in the construction of a brick walkway into the Walton House Museum.
2000
- $500 to Centerville-Washington Park District for Camperships to Park District camps for underprivileged youth.
- $500 to Washington-Centerville Public Library for software for the interactive Learning Center at both libraries.
